The Sacred Heart diet has been around for a number of years. You see, it is also called the Spokane Heart Diet, the Cleveland Clinic Diet, Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital Diet and the Miami Heart Institute Diet. It is very similar to the cabbage Soup diet.

Anyway, the urban myth is that it came about from the Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital. 

The Sacred Heart diet is known to help people lose around ten pounds a week in seven days, and that too not without anything drastic like starving yourself or eating only some medicinal chips or food, just having some special soup made of broth and vegetables.

How Does Sacred Heart Diet Work

Now you may be wondering how the Sacred Heart diet works.

Wel, the Sacred Heart diet is based on a menu you follow for 7 days. You see, the menu contains specific foods and ingredients that you should eat. The Sacred Heart Diet is one of the most systemized diet plans, with strict norms about what to eat on which day of the diet and what not to eat during the diet.

The Diet is made of eleven essential ingredients. The four ingredients that are a strict no-no in the diet are Bread, Alcohol, Fried foods and Carbonated beverages, including diet sodas. The diet will also gradually add lean beaf, fish, chicken and dairy products. You will also add certain fruits, allowable beverages and other cooked or canned vegetables.

The Verdict 

The best part of the diet is that it is not debatable or even controversial. Almost every ingredient in the diet has been proved to be instrumental in the pursuit of weight loss. Also, the diet is very simple to follow. However it is regimented. The Sacred Heat Diet also supports exercise, therefore, you do not have to worry whether you can worry during the diet or not.

The Sacred Heart diet is a good short term weight loss program. However, if you need to lose a large amount of weight, then another diet would probably better for you.
